10 Wild Outside Bets To Win WWE 2019 Men's Royal Rumble

7. John Cena

At some point in the very near future, John Cena is going to have to celebrate his sweet sixteen. The one-time perennial Champ has already hauled most of his belongings for permanent residence in Hollywood, and the time before we can't see Cena for real is running out. He'll have to beat Ric Flair's fake record before long.

Of course, he is only 41, and WWE don't exactly shy away from pushing part-timers into high-profile programmes - regardless of relevance or rickety knees. So 2019 isn't quite now-or-never for Cena's long awaited yanabumfit, especially as John's transition to the silver screen could easily go the way of Hulk Hogan rather than The Rock - but there are certain reasons it makes sense.

A Royal Rumble win is a ready-made route to number 16 for an absent Cena, without any great necessity to patch him back into proceedings. The surprise of his entry would be enough to carry him over the line to New Jersey - whilst also providing a faint echo of his last Rumble success. A renewal of tensions with Daniel Bryan has WrestleMania main event written all over.

Probability: You can never rule Big Match John out.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
