10 Wild Outside Bets To Win WWE 2019 Men's Royal Rumble

2. Conor McGregor

The controversy surrounding the outcome of Conor McGregor's UFC comeback against Khabib Nurmagomedov - not to mention the general gloriole of disgrace which floats an inch above his person - might have cooled WWE's much-publicised long-term interest in the Irish pugilist, but don't bet on it. Mike Tyson lifted the company out of turmoil at the apex - or rather, nadir - of his notoriety, and WWE's moral compass, for all their hollow PR blathering, hasn't truly budged an inch.

McGregor is money, and like Ronda Rousey at last year's event, could cause an immediate spike in interest with a Royal Rumble appearance. But would they be so bold - or more accurately, wasteful - to put him in the match itself?

Perhaps not. It's one way to organise a tie with Brock Lesnar - who could very well be UFC champ come WrestleMania - but it's a bit ham-fisted. Easier just to promote it as a big-money fight, with all the build done outside the ring.

Probability: An appearance is possible, a win is unthinkable.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
