8. He's Gay

In 2015 and long after the rest of the world had already made the assumption, WWE told everybody that men and women should actually be treated equally. It was with the company's typical tone-deaf approach that Stephanie McMahon marched to the ring to effectively declare that females other than herself should also be a big part of the show.

It was more than a little condescending of course, but it would be in the company's wheelhouse to follow the exact same script when tackling homosexuality in a positive light for the very first time.

As an industry criminally behind the times on issues of sexuality (amongst numerous other social issues), it would be a rather even-handed way of dealing with the subject in a way that could possibly help younger members of the fanbase that could be struggling with similar issues.

The mysterious messages have hung over Angle's head, almost threatening or blackmailing the Olympian as if it's something he would be ashamed to have outed. The realisation that society won't view him any differently or any less of a hero would be a vindicating moment, as long as the 'real' life alongside his wife and children explored in his recent '24' special is left out of further potential twists.
