7. He's Bankrupt

Kurt first marriage (and the controversial breakdown of it) became a major part of TNA storylines before and after his ex-wife Karen married Jeff Jarrett in 2010. Karen was known to TNA fans following a heel run alongside Kurt as his valet years earlier, but the complex machinations of the new relationship eventually found new life on television when Jarrett and Angle agreed to work a storyline around it.

Their matches were fabulous, and many assumed that their personal problems were water under the bridge as the pair continued to work together for several years.

However, 'Double J's recent return to wrestling's headlines could offer Kurt a storyline shame a self-anointed American hero such as himself would never want to admit to - total financial destitution.

Without saying as much, Angle could admit to the world that Global Force Wrestling's wholesale swallowing of TNA was being funded entirely by his lofty alimony payments to Karen following a divorce that left him penniless. A dark secret he didn't want to 'lose his kids' over, it would turn out that his financial ruin was briefly assuaged by his new General Manager's role, but that the money continued to drain away with no end in sight.

He'd admit to even selling his gold medals just to feed his new kids, before telling the world it has in fact been his excommunicated and jealous older children on the phone threatening him all along.
