10 Wildest Wrestling Lawsuits Ever

Hulk Hogan vs Vince Russo
World Wildlife Fund

Whilst Hogan vs. Russo might be the most high-profile one-on-one lawsuit in wrestling, there's no denying the magnitude of the case of WWF vs. WWF.

Formed in April 1961, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is one of the planet's biggest and most active conservation charities. Famously mascotted by a cute little panda bear, the WWF has done some amazing work to help save the world's most endangered species of animal and plant.

However, they did force the World Wrestling Federation to change their name, which is unforgivable.

The two entities entered into an agreement in 1994; the Federation would severely reduce its use of the WWF initials if the Fund didn't force them to change their name.

However, this was Vince McMahon talking, so naturally he pushed his luck.

The company kept on using WWF across its programming until a lawsuit was filed in 2000. Thanks to a victory in the UK Court of Appeal, McMahon and co. were forced to change. This prompted the "Get the F Out" campaign in 2002 and the subsequent switch from World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment.
