10 Wildest Wrestling Urban Legends

7. Sid's Squirrel

Sid used to laugh quite a bit.

Why?

Was he a psychopath, laughing in anticipation of the punchline that was an imminent hammering of his opponent?

Or was a small-to-medium-size rodent scampering around and tickling his gooch?

If a wild urban legend is to be believed, the latter.

The story goes that Sid, comfortably on the Ryback/Disco Inferno scale of pro wrestling intellectuals, once kept a squirrel as a pet. Multiple wrestlers have corroborated the story, but that might just be because it's funny: Sid was dared by "the boys" to place the squirrel in his trunks. The squirrel then decided to chomp Sid's ball sac, which more likely than not made him look like he does in the picture above. Then again, he probably looks like that when reading a map.

But how true is this, really?

Sid was a bit of a figure of fun around the locker room, so this might have done the rounds because it's one of those stories that is as funny as it is viable.

Then again, the man once tried to use a squeegee as a weapon, so it's probably true.
