5. Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x18vsus_mickie-james-vs-trish-stratus-wrestlemania-22_sport Six months of storytelling were devoted to the rivalry between Trish Stratus and Mickie James so to say that there was a ton of pressure on the performers to reward fans and WWE Creative for sticking with them throughout the entire feud would be an understatement of massive proportions. That the blowoff to their program was to take place at WrestleMania 22, in front of fans from all over the globe and with millions more watching in over 100 countries, only intensified said pressure. Two of the greatest in-ring performers the WWE Divas roster has ever seen, they thrived under pressure, delivering a match that was great both from a wrestling and storytelling perspective. Mickie targeted the knee of her opponent in an attempt to take Trish's base away from her. After all, you know what they say about a one-legged woman in an ass-kicking contest, right? I don't know either but Jim Ross does and that's good enough for me. Trish, as she did so many times throughout her Hall of Fame career, reached down deep inside herself and found the guts to fight through the pain and mount a comeback. She pounded away at Mickie and managed to set her up for the Stratusfaction bulldog when the deranged and psychotic challenger to Trish's Women's Championship grabbed a handful of the titleholder's...um...nether regions, forcing her to release the hold. Moments later, a kick to the injured knee and her own version of the Chick Kick won the match and the title for Mickie. The Divas would meet again at Backlash a month later but injury necessitated the premature end of that contest. In Stratus' final Raw match, she defeated Mickie and thanked the young woman for a great run in a truly classy act. The Richmond, Virginia would take things she learned while working with Trish and use them to constantly improve, adapt and evolve as a performer en route to one of the most decorated Divas runs in WWE history.
