4. Mickie James vs. Melina
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llebIEsyBcI Speaking of Mickie, her rivalry with Melina in 2007 not only netted several outstanding matches, it also brought some prestige back to the Women's Championship and established both women as integral to the continued success of women's wrestling in WWE. Their clash at Backlash, just weeks after WrestleMania 23, still ranks as one of the most underrated and under-appreciated Divas matches of the last decade. It was a hard-fought, hard-hitting contest that not only showcased the talents of the women involved but also demonstrated their determination to carry the art form in the wake of Trish Stratus and Lita's departure. Their matches were always quality affairs. More importantly, there was always this sense that they had a chip on their shoulders when they squared off with each other. Part of that may have had to do with WWE Creative's constant attempts to get Diva Search competitors over as real threats to the women's title while another was the fact that Mickie and Melina had repeatedly been cast aside in favor of others, deemed replaceable whenever management had a newer, prettier new toy to play with. Angry at the disrespect shown toward them, they lashed out by stealing the show out from any of the big boobed bimbos the company wanted to replace them with by having matches no former model with minimal training could ever dream of having. It worked and fans across the globe benefited.
