1. Undertaker Vs. Mankind At King Of The Ring 1998 (Hell In A Cell)
Every wrestling fan knows this match. It has to be considered the wildest match in WWE history and maybe wrestling history. When you consider that Mick Foley had the idea in his head to climb to the top of the cage and have Undertaker toss him off of it in the first two minutes of the match you have the question the man's sanity. It was a legitimate 15 foot fall as he went crashing through the Spanish announce table. There's a reason it is arguably the most replayed spot in wrestling history. We have never seen anything like that. We'll likely never see anybody try to top it either. In this 2002 interview with Undertaker, he spoke about how time stood still after Foley went crashing through the table: "I didn't think Mick Foley would get up from that. It was such a violent impact. TV doesn't do it justice. For him to get up from that was unbelievable." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgYoYTbnPo4 After Foley came back from the Spanish table bump, Undertaker gave him a Chokeslam from on top of the cell and Foley went crashing through the cage into the ring along with a steel chair that didn't help matters either. In the same interview, Undertaker said that the second fall was a lot worse than the first one and that the panel wasn't supposed to break loose. Undertaker mentioned that he told Foley to just stay down, but they kept on going and had a battle for 17 minutes. Here's what Foley wrote about the match in his 1999 autobiography: "François Petit and the EMTs tried to help me as I lay on my back with my arms outstretched and my legs sickly twisted to one side. I later asked The Undertaker what he thought when he looked down at me from atop the cell. His answer was chilling in its simplicity: 'I thought you were dead.'" That's how serious it was. Foley was hurt so bad that Undertaker thought he was dead. Nothing will ever top Undertaker vs. Mankind at King of the Ring 1998 as the wildest match in wrestling history.
