Going into her match with Hikaru Shida on last week's Dynamite, it seemed that Serena Deeb was picked out to job to the former AEW Women's Champion and grant her that coveted 50th win. But things took a surprising turn when The Woman Of A Thousand Holds left the ring victorious. Naturally, this has put a real spring in her step and could be setting the stage for a big win.
Deeb is one of the most prominent veterans in the women's division, having wrestled across multiple big-name companies (most notably Shimmer, The NWA and even WWE) since 2005. That experience is a massive plus-point for her, as she's got excellent ring awareness, a classic old school style and plenty of time to hone her craft.
She's coming into the tournament with plenty of momentum. While a heel win would be disappointing for fans, it would also - like Nyla Rose - be a really great opportunity to create a dominant champion against whom the up and coming wrestlers can make their name against.
