10 World Class Athletes Who Would Have Been Huge WWE Stars

6. Ray Lewis

One of the most polarizing people in sports history, Ray Lewis is a perfect example of how winning overcomes almost anything in the eyes of the general public. In 2000, Ray Lewis was accused of murder, and become one of the most reviled athletes in sports history. Just six years after the infamous OJ Simpson case, Lewis was the latest celebrity to be embroiled in controversy. Lewis would eventually negotiated a plea agreement which saw him get off the hook in exchange for testimony against two other suspects. The situation would continue to hang over Lewis' head for years. Fast forward to 2012, and Ray Lewis retired as a Super Bowl champion, and found himself beloved within sports. With his charismatic nature, insane competitiveness, and sometimes unusual attribution to religion, he could have been a monster star as a professional wrestler. At 6'1, 240 pounds, Lewis has the size and the reputation to still get in the ring and pull off a Lawrence Taylor (when it comes to wrestling matches, not crimes), type situation. Lewis could have been a strong, inspirational face, or a hypocrite heel, and would have been a fantastic addition to wrestling. I mean, it can't get much worse than Mongo McMichael.
