9. Social Media Lies
Did anybody see Daniel Bryan’s big announcement on SmackDown the other week? Oh, no none of us did. Then the next week when Roman had a big announcement and we got Bryan’s announcement too? Neither of those happened either? What about the big women’s tag match between Fire and Desire and the Iiconics? Yeah, that never happened either (more on that later). Why did we all think these were going to happen? WWE specifically broadcast all over social media that they would.
After so many nonsense announcements, WWE is starting to feel like the boy who cried wolf. Except that boy has millions of fans and a social media platform to cry on. But one of those two things will definitely go away if they keep up this sort of game.
When other sports have this happen, everybody attacks them endlessly. Ask James Dolan how not signing any free agents like he promised has helped his popularity in New York. Yet for some reason, WWE gets to completely change their announced decisions an hour before it happens and we give them a pass. Why are we so willing to forgive them?
Well, that may be the fact that we all know how unpredictable Vince McMahon is. The rest of the company may not be at fault, it may strictly be the fact that the owner doesn’t know what is best anymore. And now we can all realize that James Dolan and Vince McMahon might be the same person. Has anybody seen them in a room together at the same time?
