10 Worst AEW Matches Ever (According To The Internet)

1. Matt Hardy Vs. Sammy Guevara - All Out 2020 (0.55)

Britt Baker
AEW

What was meant to be a Last Man Standing match booked to make All Out 2020 more interesting, via crazed backstage brawl away from the ringside plants suffering from sunstroke, went horrifically wrong.

Early in the match, the two men scaled a cherry picker in order to fall in tandem through a table placed conveniently below it.

This is where things went awry. Immediately, referee Aubrey Edwards sensed that something had happened. For a brief, terrifying moment, when he turned purple, it was thought that Matt Hardy had died. That is no exaggeration. Somehow, when something kicked in - instinct, muscle memory, whatever - Hardy continued and was allowed to continue. Inexplicably. AEW recognised their mistake and, in the aftermath, implemented an improved communication system between the medical team and referee corp.

This is such a strange match for the Cagematch users to have even rated. It hardly counts, does it?

Hopefully, the rating is a reflection of the disastrous handling of the match, and not a sociopathic meditation on its irrelevant quality.

"Hardy doesn't know to work and Guevara couldn't carry him. Minus five stars!"
