10 Worst AEW Matches Ever (According To The Internet)

7. Jeff Jarrett Vs. Jeff Hardy - Dynamite, August 16 2023 (2.26)

Britt Baker
AEW

Look, the money went to charity, so one good thing came from this video game tie-in, but the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match wasn't even a good version of so-bad-it's-good schlock. And, while it wasn't so bad or egregious that it represented the beginning of the end of AEW's uncompromising artistic integrity or anything so daft - this is a company that promotes Battle of the Belts, after all - it was horrible.

Jeff Hardy entered the ring and immediately left it to wander through a backstage area bathed in red with an assortment of deadly weapons hanging on a wall. He was then attacked by Jeff Jarrett, who must have presumed Hardy would just wander off.

In a mess so dimly lit you could barely ascertain what was happening - probably by design, because AEW knew full well how bad it was - the various members of Hardy Party or the HFO or whatever that awful stable is now called clashed with Jarrett's gang. A bucket of blood was poured over Jarrett's head.

As Hardy advanced towards Karen Jarrett, she did her best final girl scream. She curdled blood with that thing, but come on: Hardy's output in 2023 isn't that horrifying, it's just really slow.

The brawl made its way back to the ring, and then Leatherface, who they hired from the same lookalike agency that WWE used to get a Doink for Money In The Bank 2020, scared away Karen Jarrett.

Jeff won.
