10 Worst AEW Matches Ever (According To The Internet)

6. Allie Vs. Brandi Rhodes - Fight For The Fallen 2020 (2.22)

Britt Baker
AEW

Brandi Rhodes did a lot for AEW offscreen, for which she doesn't receive enough credit. She played a key role in making the shows more inclusive and while people mocked the subscription Heels club, try telling that to the members. They love it.

Onscreen, it is reasonable to state that she got in her own way, which was a shame: when she was laser-focused on one role, she was very good at it. She was exceptional in the build to the Cody Vs. Shawn Spears, which was a tremendous, enterprising bit of business.

The issue is that she was a very good vengeful babyface fascinated with the idea of playing a manipulative heel, and in the build to her match with Allie at Fight For The Fallen, she disclosed the severe (and real) mental health issues that affected her figure skating career.

And then she inexplicably played heel in an overlong and piss-weak match. A botched superkick was noticeably bad, but the whole thing was a slog, like they were wading through treacle.

In a post-match promo, burying the ref in character, Brandi said "The entire match, he kept counting to two and stopping because literally that match should have been over within two minutes".

She was correct, but not for that reason.
