10 Worst Babyface Backlashes Of All Time

6. You've Had Some Proper Cowboys In Here

The first case of nepotism in this article, Erik Watts  - son of former wrestler and promoter 'Cowboy' Bill Watts - had only received three months' training and was a doughy, uncoordinated mess when he debuted for WCW, beginning what would become a three month undefeated streak at live events and on television.

The reason for this monster push of such a green hand? The Cowboy was the one booking WCW at the time.

And the fans hated it. If you're nettled at the idea that wrestlers like Cena and Reigns might been forced on the public by WWE in the 21st century, well that's nothing compared to the boss' rookie son being put over everyone he faced in the ring.

Erik Watts was a pariah, often booed out of the building, the winner of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's 1992 awards for Most Overrated Wrestler, Readers' Least Favourite Wrestler and Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic.

Once the Cowboy was pushed out of power, Erik's days were numbered in WCW. The sad part was that he did get better in the ring, and developed a physique to boot... but by that point, he was so infamous for that initial undeserved push that promoters were nervous about booking him to do anything high profile.

Except for TNA, of course - but they'll book anything that's been made famous somewhere else first.
