https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLcT99yJ3XQ In it's prime, the American Wrestling Association was a premier promotion. It's roster showcased stars like Nick Bockwinkel, Rick Martel, and even Hulk Hogan. The AWA Heavyweight championship is still considered one of the most prestigious titles in pro wrestling history. Enter Mighty Igor Vodik. Mighty Igor Vodik was the Eugene of his time. Billed at the time as "The World's Strongest Wrestler", Igor's gimmick was that of a goofy, friendly Polish wrestler. He would bring kielbasa with him to the ring and chomp on it prior to the bell. In May of 1965, Mighty Igor defeated long-time champion heel Mad Dog Vachon for the AWA belt. The kielbasa-munching Igor held onto his only AWA Heavyweight title for one full week before dropping it right back to Mad Dog Vachon.
