10 Worst Decisions We Have Made As The Authority Of WWE

6. Not Really Booked Asuka Much

We Are The Authority
WWE.com

Asuka is the SmackDown Women's Champion.

We're in a strange paradigm, in which the Superstars of WWE today almost beg for opportunities backstage. They love "this business", and so they are grateful to even appear on television. And isn't that why we gravitate towards larger-than-life facilitators of wish fulfilment? So that they can meekly ask to guest on an increasingly unpopular programme? This mentality casts them not as stars - wrestling promotions should want to promote stars, so those stars can make the company money - and is thus completely backwards.

At least, if they're division champions, they don't have to ask to appear on TV. But that's Asuka's problem! We don't speak Japanese, and we don't have fellow General Managers in Japan because why wouldn't they not watch New Japan Pro Wrestling. We can't understand what she's saying.

"AEW"?

Talk American, godd*mnit!

We probably should have corrected this - if a champion isn't worth putting on TV, then what the f*ck does that say about the rest of the geeks? - but we just sort of didn't. We are indirectly burying the very notion of a championship here, too, we get this. It's just difficult, you know?

She can't guest commentate, so what good is this pro wrestler?
