Brock Lesnar made it two bad SummerSlam main events in a row when he almost killed a man in 2016.

Whilst that might be somewhat melodramatic, the sight of a trained UFC fighter battering a man's head open was not what wrestling fans wanted to see at the end of a pay-per-view.

The poor head in question belonged to Randy Orton, who was battling Lesnar in an inter-promotional match to close out the show.

The majority of the match was Lesnar dominating Orton with The Viper getting a few blows in here and there.

Things then took a very sinister turn when Lesnar grounded Orton in the ring and delivered some shoot elbow strikes to his head. The brutal shots to the forehead made a sickening thud and it soon became apparent that Lesnar had cut Orton open when a pool of blood began gathering under Randy's head.

Lesnar was told to "graze" Orton's head, but caused way more damage than intended and officials were genuinely concerned for Randy's wellbeing. The finish was so unexpected that Lesnar got into a backstage fight with Chris Jericho after the match.

Chaos in the ring, chaos behind the scenes, and a totally unnecessary and dangerous ending put this match beyond redemption.
