10 Worst Endings In WWE SummerSlam History
2. SummerSlam 2003
The night after WrestleMania XIX, WCW's greatest creation, Goldberg, made his long-awaited WWE debut.
The former world champion bulldozed his way through The Rock in his debut match and then destroyed everyone else in his path. It was all building to the second ever Elimination Chamber match at SummerSlam 2003 in which many predicted that Goldberg would take the World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H.
However, the words "Triple H", "2003", and "put over a new star" infamously do not go together.
As expected, Goldberg cut through the competition inside the Chamber. He eliminated Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho to set up a showdown with The Game.
A sledgehammer shot to the head was enough to put Goldberg down for the three count, keeping the title around Triple H's waist and killing Goldberg's momentum once and for all.
All the work that had been done to build Goldberg up over the past few months had been wasted in a single moment. This was a classic example of Triple H's "Reign of Terror" coming at the expense of a new talent.
This decision not only left Goldberg high and dry, but it sucked the energy out of every single person watching.
