The Johnsons. Get it?!? Because they're wearing skin-colored bodysuits to make them look like giant penises! Isn't that hilarious?!? Their names were Dick and Rod Johnson! Those are all nicknames for the male genitalia! Is the point being hammered home any harder?!? This would be tough to get over in any era, but again, TNA thought it would be a great idea to put something on television to make their fans look like uneducated redneck trash by thinking "yeah, they'll laugh at this nonsense and it will get over". Keep in mind that the team debuted on the very first TNA pay-per-view, which means this was a part of the public's very first experience with the company. It's like meeting a stranger and immediately stabbing them in the kidney with a steak knife. Fans, of course, had no idea how to respond to the insulting of their intelligence, but The Johnsons were gone from the company in a matter of weeks. They would turn up in WWE a few years later as Gymini, teaming with Simon Dean, but their time as The Johnsons ruined them with internet fans, who continued to make penis jokes all the time.
