4. Owen Hart Shills Blistex

The Owen Hart/Steve Austin match at Summerslam 1997 was notorious for a number of reasons, chief amongst them being that this was match with the botched Tombstone piledriver that severely injured Austin's neck, almost left him paralysed and definitely shortened his career. What people forget about the match was that it was a Kiss My Ass match, the stipulation being that if Austin lost, he would have to kiss the exposed rear end of Hart. Really the warning signs and portents of doom were there from the start. In the lead up to this bout, Owen Hart cut one of the cheesiest in-ring promos ever. Blistex, for those who don't know, is a lip balm, and Owen would be DAMNED if Austin was going to place chapped lips on his posterior. Not only did he advise Austin to 'have his Blistex ready', but, in front of the live crowd in attendance, Hart held up an actual packaged box of Blistex for the camera to see just to make sure everyone single person knew what he was talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aBVQlgacz0&feature=youtu.be&t=30 Blistex: For When You Have To Place Your Lips On Another Man's Ass. Now, if this had been in a backstage promo, that's one thing, but holding up an actual product during a live interview in the RING, is another entirely.
