5. Sycho Sid Wants To Play Softball

It's important to note that Sid himself that rubbished claims he'd regularly no-show events to go play softball instead. However, he did admit (during an interview with The Hannibal TV) that he took some time off to play ball after leaving the WWF in 1992.

"After" might give the wrong impression there. Sid had left the company, but he was technically still under contract for a few more months. So, to kill time before inevitably rejoining WCW for another big payday or six, the future World Champ spent his days pitching and batting.

What a life.

Vince McMahon was effectively paying Sid to be the world's richest softball player. Some older fans might read that back and think it's astounding that the WWF didn't draft Sid in under that gimmick - after all, occupational characters were all the rage in McMahon's federation for a spell.

Sid missed two-three months worth of matches to play another sport.
