10 Worst Excuses Wrestlers Gave For Missing Matches
4. The Ultimate Warrior’s Comic Book Seethe
Sometimes, there's more drama behind the curtain than companies could ever script in front of it. The Ultimate Warrior's 1996 run in the WWF was a disaster from beginning to end, but few were shocked that it didn't last. Vinnie Mac eventually just had enough of Warrior's diva behaviour.
The ex-World Champ no-showed some house show dates and told everyone he was mourning the death of his father. McMahon disputed that, because he knew that Warrior and his dad had been estranged for a solid decade. Still, fair enough - the death of a parent is big news, but that wasn't the full story.
Warrior was also reportedly furious that the WWF hadn't done enough to push sales for his comic book at live events. The promotion had also started to use some trademarks that Warrior either believed he owned or did own, and that created tension between both parties.
Chiefly, it appears that Warrior was p*ssed about the lack of comic book sales, which is rather silly.
