10 Worst Factions In Modern Wrestling

5. Cosmic Wasteland

If nothing else came from the creation of All Elite Wrestling, it allowed the world to see just how good Cody Rhodes is, and always was. After a start to his WWE career that saw Cody earmarked as a future star of the company, with all the potential in the world, that all came unravelled rather quickly.

After failing to find his brother Goldust a tag team partner, Cody would settle on himself, only donning a similar bodysuit and face paint as The Bizarre One. Now going as Stardust, the Grandson of a Plumber would soon embark out on his own, picking up henchmen in The Ascension along the way. If there was ever an appropriate name for a faction, calling this group Cosmic Wasteland - with the emphasis on Wasteland - was appropriate.

While Stardust was simply a wrestler lost in the shuffle looking to pick up momentum, there was no saving Konnor and Viktor at this point. They had been embarrassed at every turn during the main roster run with no signs of that changing anytime soon. Losses to Neville, Sin Cara, Kalisto, The Dudleyz and The Prime Time Players amongst others, are how Cosmic Wasteland spent the fall and winter of 2016-2017.

The group unsurprisingly would not last, as Cody would request his release from WWE in May 2017. A faction that could have been the start of the revitalization of Cody Rhodes ended up being the final nail in his WWE career - at least the first time around.
