10 Worst Finishes To WWE WrestleMania Matches

3. The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania XXX)

This isn’t a conversation about whether or not Brock Lesnar should have been the one to break the streak (or whether it should have been broken at all). That’s written into wrestling lore now, and whatever you make of the decision, the logic behind the choice - that Lesnar was one of the few who could convince in the position - is sound.

To have the streak end as such an anticlimax, though, is a disappointment that can never really be rectified. The Undertaker took a hefty blow to the head early on, and never quite shook it off for the rest of the match.

The result is a ponderous affair, all the way up to a clumsy ending that sees Brock counter a tombstone into an F5 for the shocking win. No one can believe it happened; it takes a long while for the truth of the matter to resonate around the arena.

Ultimately the end of the streak felt like an accident, not the momentous, baton-passing moment it could have been. This makes it more realistic than many wrestling matches, perhaps, but this was the streak. That’s not the time for realism.
