This won’t be the only entry on this list that involves a gimmick of a series of matches – or in this case, a gauntlet of smaller matches one after another.

The Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match was billed as being for a “prestigious” trophy, but we all knew better after the WWE World Cup tournament from 2018. And then there was the fact R-Truth, a pure comedy act, was part of it. Worse, Truth actually became the “iron man” of the gauntlet match, beating Bobby Lashley with a rollup, then toppling Andrade with a comedy spot of the two knocking heads and Truth falling on top. Erick Rowan got DQ’d, sending Truth to the second-to-last match.

AJ Styles destroyed an already demolished Truth, and when Rey Mysterio was taken out backstage, it looked like he was going to win a sham gauntlet match. But just to make it extra ridiculous, Undertaker laid out Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and took Mysterio’s place.

This “dream match” turned into Taker obliterating Styles without even removing his jacket, winning a gauntlet match he wasn’t entered in (sound familiar?) and treating a former WWE Champion like a jobber.

Yes, this set up the amazing Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 37, but the entire gauntlet match was a complete waste of time.
