10 Worst Matches In Extreme Rules History
1. Santina Marella Vs. Vickie Guerrero And Chavo Guerrero - 2009
When it comes to stipulations, the good ones enhance the drama and pressure of a match while allowing the competitors to do their best work - that's why the good ones are few and far between. As for bad ones, though, the sky is pretty much the limit - whatever you can think of can be made into a match that can bore an audience to tears.
It's even worse if the workers involved are terrible - or aren't even workers. That was the case at the inaugural Extreme Rules show, when "Santina" Marella defended the Miss WrestleMania crown against Vickie Guerrero... in a hog pen match. Chavo Guerrero was on a team with his aunt to actually do the dirty work, but everybody got dirty.
Basically, Marella and Chavo rolled around in the mud for a couple of minutes, then when Vickie got involved, she was pinned. The live crowd didn't care about any of it, there were actual piglets (which was by far the best part of the match), and it was full of the kind of "comedy" that Vince McMahon and nobody else finds funny.
Thankfully, the show is better remembered for Jeff Hardy beating Edge for the World Heavyweight Title, then losing it to CM Punk on a Money in the Bank cash-in. We've all blocked the hog pen match out of our memories.
