Though it's easy to fall into the trap of hyperbole, there's no exaggeration in the statement that Michael Cole's heel turn and subsequent feud with Jerry Lawler made for one of the worst WWE storylines of all time. The two eventually met at WrestleMania XXVII in a horrendous match that saw Cole win by DQ, but of course, it wasn't over.

At Extreme Rules 2011, the two met again in a tag team contest - Cole was paired up with his "coach," Jack Swagger, while Lawler partnered with his erstwhile broadcast colleague, Jim Ross. Needless to say, this was a bit of a mismatch, but the heels actually got the heat on Lawler during this glacially paced "Country Whipping" match. Eventually, he made the hot tag to Jim Ross, who cleared house.

Ross locked Cole in the Ankle Lock until Swagger broke it up, but then the announcer gave 'The All-American American' a low blow with a leather strap. In the chaos, though, Cole rolled up Ross, pinning him and leaving nothing resolved.
