When Daniel Bryan pulled down the WWE Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 31, hopes were raised. The secondary title hadn't meant too much in years, but in the hands of Bryan fans had someone who could surely raise the stock of the famous strap. Sadly, Bryan was forced to vacate the title in early-May due to injury.

At Elimination Chamber later that month, Ryback captured the gold and was endorsed by Bryan. That didn't sit well with fans, the 'Big Guy' felt like a letdown as champion after the popular bearded warrior. Things would get worse before they'd get better, Ryback's first major singles challenge came in the form of The Big Show.

Those promised epics Daniel Bryan would have produced were a distant memory by the time Show and Ryback locked horns at Money In The Bank 2015. Going just over 5 minutes, the duo took the title back down to where it had been before Bryan's critically-acclaimed victory.

A lame disqualification finish further marred the title situation, disappointing fans and proving that the Intercontinental Title was right back where it started before 'Mania.
