10 Worst Matches Of The Undertaker's WWE Career
2. Vs. Roman Reigns - WrestleMania 33
The most convincing faux-ending of The Undertaker's career, he had us all convinced that his WrestleMania 33 farewell ceremony after his loss to Roman Reigns was indeed the last we would see of him in the ring, and that's because he too was convinced it was time to hang up the hat.
If you've watched 'The Last Ride' documentary, you'll know that 'The Phenom' was incredibly critical of himself for competing in that match because of his own physical state at the time. The main event of the biggest event of the year, it was an endlessly dull bout that told two stories. One was the predictable 'Roman wins LOL' bullsh*t fans didn't want to see, but it was the other - 'Taker's ailing health - that made it that much harder to watch.
Truth be told, 'The Deadman' looked incredibly frail in the ring that night. A nagging hip injury resulted in him being off-balance throughout much of the match and the Tombstone-reversal botch was sad (though it was probably considerably better than what was supposed to come next).
The heart was willing but the body just wasn't able, and it goes without saying that we're happy 'Taker was able to return and redeem himself with some great performances following this.
