10 Worst Movies Starring Wrestlers (That You Probably Haven't Seen)

2. Sting - The Encounter (2010)

Sting pops up again on this list and my word what a difference a decade can make. We all know that Mr. Borden found religion in his later life, and that he feels his relationship with Jesus saved him from going down that horrifying path we have seen too many other wrestlers go down.

But just in case you didn't know, he has starred in a couple of movies to make the message explicitly clear. The Encounter stands out as the most balls to the wall crazy of Sting's film efforts, and really is a contrast to Shutter Speed filmed just ten years prior.

This flick is part of the new wave of ultra-Christian filmmaking that has come out of the USA. While these films can be big business for American Christian audiences (who often go with their congregations all at once), they understandably find less of a following anywhere else. This is not exactly surprising – the films are unbelievably heavy-handed with their messages and incredibly judgmental of anyone who doesn't believe in their story 100%.

It’s worth checking out because the concept of Jesus in a diner is actually kind of neat. It’s also worth checking out because it’ll blow your mind to see how American evangelism expresses itself in pop culture.
