10 Worst Musical WWE Gimmicks

5. Flash Funk

In 1996, after achieving much success in ECW and being hailed as a super talented high-flier, 2 Cold Scorpio decided to sign with WWE. Getting the subsequent WWE treatment Scorpio would be inexplicably transformed into Flash Funk, a vaguely racist gimmick that may or may not have implied that he was, in some form or another, a pimp. Wearing visually offensive blue bodysuits, fur coats, hats, and being accompanied to the ring by two dancing women dubbed the Funkettes, Flash would strut his way to the ring to one of the funkiest songs in WWE history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pt_bZHnUXM This gimmick was terrible from the start. Scorpio never did seem all that comfortable dancing and the ridiculous name change was embarrassing. Even in the goofy pre-attitude era the gimmick seemed like a rib from the beginning and even though he eventually reverted back to Scorpio and had a couple promising chances, he was let go in 1999 before he could fully erase the character of Flash Funk from his resume.
