10 Worst No. 30 Entrants In WWE Royal Rumble History
4. Roman Reigns - 2017
Two years after Roman Reigns was booed out of the building following his infamous 2015 Royal Rumble win, WWE seemingly reminded us that the pro-Reigns agenda was as strong as ever when he was shoehorned into the 2017 Rumble as the match’s final entrant.
Even though he was still one of the more divisive guys on the entire roster, WWE couldn’t resist the urge to thrust Reigns into the spotlight once more. And not only that, but he’d already wrestled a 23-minute Universal title match earlier in the evening.
Contrast that with the Daniel Bryan debacle on 2014, where Bryan was left out of the Rumble match after competing earlier in the night, and this just felt like something of a double-standard, as well as confirmation that the company acts on its own interests rather than those of the fans in attendance.
In fairness, there’s a theory that Reigns was put out there so that Randy Orton’s eventual victory would be more warmly received, which may indeed have been the case, but it still felt like a rather brazen move given the events of recent Rumbles.
