10 Worst Reincarnations Of Legendary Wrestling Teams
1. Legion Of Doom (2005)
When the team of Animal and Hawk burst onto the wrestling scene as The Road Warriors in the mid-1980s, their aggressive, powerhouse style made them the most dominant tag team that the industry had ever seen.
That trend continued way into the '90s and saw The Road Warriors become The Legion of Doom in the WWF. The LOD soon completed the Triple Crown - having won the AWA, NWA, and WWF Tag Team Championships - and solidified their status as one of the greatest teams in history.
Tragically, Hawk's death in 2003 saw the team come to a heartbreaking end. Without one half of the immortal pairing, the LOD was surely no more... right?
Sadly, Vince McMahon thought otherwise and decided to resurrect The Legion of Doom by placing Animal with a new partner.
While the decision itself was questionable, a number of WWE superstars would have made acceptable LOD members, such as Rhyno or even Hardcore Holly. Meanwhile, a team with 'Power Warrior' Kensuke Sasaki - Hawk's old Hell Raisers partner from Japan - would have also made logical sense (and actually happened in All Japan just two years later).
Instead, Vince thought "F**k that" and gave us Heidenreich. Despite winning the WWE Tag Team Titles in tribute to Hawk, the new LOD lasted just six months before Heidenreich was inevitably released.
