Bombastic Bob and Bodacious Bart - those two names alone should be enough of an indication to let you know where this entry is going.

Prior to Bart Gunn's surprising dominance in the Brawl For All and Bob Holly's growing reputation as one tough SOB, Mr. Gunn was known primarily for his tenure as one half of the cowboy tandem, The Smoking Gunns. Meanwhile, Mr. Holly was known for his time as happy-go-lucky race car driver, Thurman 'Sparky' Plugg.

So, how do you drag two mid-'90s midcarders onto the next level? If you said "Repackage them as The New Midnight Express", do not pass go, do not collect $200 and go lock yourself in the closet and think about what you've done.

Brought in as part of Jim Cornette's NWA stable, the two captured the NWA World Tag Team Titles by defeating The Headbangers and held the gold for five months. Sadly for Bob and Bart, very few WWF fans cared about the NWA stable, much less the NWA gold of The New Midnight Express.

The team quietly disbanded in the second half of '98. However, not before Bart and Bob would face each other in the legit Brawl For All contest. Bart defeated Bob by decision, making Holly the only man in tournament that Gunn didn't defeat by KO.
