3. The New Rockers

When The Rockers came on the scene in the late '80s, the dynamic high flyers took the wrestling world by storm. Quickly making their way to the WWF, it didn't take long for Shawn and Marty to forge a solid argument as one of the best teams ever.

That all came to a crashing halt in 1992, when Michaels turned heel on his partner in violent fashion. Launching Marty through the glass window of The Barber Shop set, The Rockers were no more and the soon-to-be 'Heartbreak Kid' began his path to glory.

Unfortunately, Jannetty struggled to achieve the same level of solo success in the wake of the split. Instead, he had an on again/off again relationship with the WWF that saw him briefly feud with his former partner, win the IC Title along the way, before going into another tag with 1-2-3 Kid.

By the time 1996 rolled around, Jannetty found himself without a clear direction and was paired with Leif Cassidy (AKA Al Snow) as The New Rockers - complete with matching attires and the old Rockers music. Nevertheless, the announcers frequently bashed Cassidy as "goofy" and "dorky" and he was doomed to fail as Michaels' replacement.

The revamped gimmick never stood a chance and the team disbanded following Jannetty's departure after Survivor Series '96.
