1. Trish Stratus And Vince McMahon
You didn’t think we were done with Mr McMahon, did you?
Vince
certainly wasn’t done cavorting with his female talent, at least not until the
Ruthless Aggression Era had well and truly hung up its hat. Vince had a number
of kayfabe relationships with Divas, including the aforementioned Sable, as
well as Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, and Candice Michelle (whom Vince cured of
her ‘labiagytis’). But none of these were quite as memorable as Vince’s
infamous angle with Trish Stratus.
Although Vince has been happily married to Linda McMahon for over half a decade now, he seems to relish any opportunity to test their marital waters - like when he kayfabe announced that he was divorcing her on live television, a revelation that sent Linda into a catatonic state. After this, Vince paraded his new mistress, Trish Stratus, in front of the wheelchair-bound Linda, occasionally making out with her as his wife watched helplessly.
Again, this was all to set up an angle between Stephanie and Trish, one that culminated in Vince tossing Stratus aside, dumping sewage on her and claiming she was a ‘toy’ he’d ‘grown tired of playing with.’ McMahon then proceeded to make Trish strip to her underwear, whereupon he led her around the ring on her hands and knees, instructing her to bark like a dog.
Romance was already dead in 2001. Vince McMahon was just broadcasting its corpse.
