10 Worst Survivor Series Elimination Matches EVER - According To Dave Meltzer

2. The Truth Commission Vs The Disciples Of Apocalypse (1997, -*1/2)

Elsewhere on this list, makeshift quartets from the Survivor Series 1997 undercard contested a desperately boring battle unbecoming of a supercard with a reputation as infamous as any wrestling show in history.

This one is even worse.

Disciples Of Apocalypse matches had passed their sell-by date approximately three weeks after the group debuted. The infinite three team punching loop between the bikers, the Nation Of Domination and Los Boricuas quickly looked like a video on repeat. The decline in quality was stark and apparent, but cards needed filling and faction guys were perfect for fleshing out house show after Stone Cold Steve Austin went on the shelf in mid-1997.

The Truth Commission were in a tier below the warring groups, but made up the numbers in similar fashion for this four-on-four affair. There was no overt malice between the groups. Quite the opposite in fact - the tacit tones of racism underpinning both groups brought them closer together than any other faction, though bigotry and nationalism were only implied rather than outwardly discussed whenever the groups appeared on television.

As he'd do in most roles, Don Callis stole the show as the ill-fitting leader of the group, but The Jackyl's early elimination forced fans to endure the horrors of another ten minutes before the soon-to-be-pushed Interrogator (Kurgan) saw out the battle for his separatist brethren.
