Ever since the New World Order revolutionised the wrestling world in the 1990s, promotions have fallen foul of attempting to ape their success, booking convoluted, roster-spanning feuds between bloated mega-stables. The most needlessly complicated (and ultimately pointless) of these must be Aces and Eights, an angle which terrorised TNA for well over a year. The storyline got so out of control that, when the secret leader was finally revealed to be Bully Ray, TNA felt the need to release a five part video explaining the whole thing. This was no booking masterplan; events were clearly retconned and brushed over to fit the "shocking" twist, an ending which heavily involved Brooke Hogan of all people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5xOdpKJ59M Although the initial idea must be applauded - a group of masked bikers running riot over the TNA roster is an admittedly intriguing prospect - it ultimately enjoyed the same fate as the NWO, collapsing in on itself after becoming far too big and complex for its own good.
