10 Worst TNA Champions Ever
7. James Storm
TNA stalwart James Storm wrestled at the company's very first show, and before long, he was established as a fixture of the tag team division. Storm was part of America's Most Wanted, one of TNA's all-time most successful tandems, and after that team dissolved, he joined up with Bobby Roode to form another heralded team, Beer Money.
In 2011, both Storm and Roode took part in the Bound For Glory Series, a grueling tournament that would determine who would challenge TNA Champion Kurt Angle at the company's annual supershow. Though Storm advanced to the final four, he lost to Bully Ray in the semifinals; it was Roode who would claim victory, challenge Kurt Angle at Bound For Glory, and fail.
Two days later, Storm got a shot at Angle, and he pulled off the upset to unseat the Olympic Gold Medalist as TNA Champion. At the next set of tapings, Storm defended the championship against Roode, and the challenger won when he hit the champ with a beer bottle. In one fell swoop, Roode turned heel, ended his friendship and team with Storm, and became champ. He would embark on the longest reign in the title's history.
James Storm's title win and eight-day reign was part of a compelling storyline, but taken by itself, it didn't do much for "The Cowboy."
