Sean Waltman was a true pioneer of light heavyweight wrestling in the United States of America in the mid-1990s. He was one of the first truly small dudes to make a splash in the World Wrestling Federation, and despite the shade thrown at him he was a fairly integral member of both the New World Order and D-Generation X.

Whether you know him as Waltman, X-Pac or Syxx, he was relevant in the 90s.

As Syxx-Pac in 2002? Well, not so much. He wasn't so far past his prime in theory, but was clearly unable to keep up with the new generation of cruiserweight wrestlers in the United States. He became the 4th X Division Champion in 2002 and held the best for all of two weeks before dropping it to Jerry Lynn.

Yes, Jerry Lynn wasn't exactly a spring chicken in 2002, but he didn't look out of his depth as champion. Syxx-Pac was.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
