10 Worst Ways WWE Butchers The English Language

7. "Championship Title"

No one in WWE has a ''belt." Or a ''strap."

No, in Vince McMahon's world you bear a ''Championship'' or a ''Title'' - which, ironically enough, are belts, but never called ''belts.'' Championships are prestigious and only for the best, whereas every shmoe coming to the show might be wearing a belt in their pants. Unless you're Becky Two Belts or Two Belts Banks, in which case you can sell a ton of shirts with their catchphrases, so that's acceptable.

Even when the redesigned belts were introduced a few years ago, the new titles were only referred to as ''new Universal title'' and ''new WWE Championship.'' The world "belt" passed no lips.

"Strap" is very much an old-school insider term, so naturally it drives Vince crazy. WWE is NOT pro wrestling, damn it! This one also seems to be a term that many go out of their way to flaunt when they aren't in a position to be disciplined, as Kevin Nash did at his Hall of Fame ceremony when he mentioned ''going for the straps.'

Vince must have been backstage throwing his headset.
