10 Worst World Champions In WWE History

4. Jack Swagger

The Great Khali World Title

Jack Swagger was never supposed to be the World Heavyweight Champion.

When he won the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 26 and subsequently cashed it on Chris Jericho, his push was supposed to go to Drew McIntyre. When McIntyre and his wife had a public argument around WrestleMania weekend, though, he was punished by having his big victory taken away.

Swagger's good luck didn't last long, though - it was clear that the company had no real interest in making him champion, so he floundered in the role. He managed to pull out wins (or disqualification losses) to retain the title for a couple of months, but at Fatal 4-Way, he lost the belt to Rey Mysterio.

Swagger's subsequent downfall over the years proves that winning a world title really means nothing for a wrestler's career unless the company is really invested in him. Instead of a main-event star, "The All-American American" became the perfect example of a paper champion.
