10 Worst World Champions In WWE History

3. Dolph Ziggler

The Great Khali World Title
WWE

When most fans think of Dolph Ziggler as World Heavyweight Champion, they remember his win over Alberto Del Rio on the post-WrestleMania 29 edition of Raw. Unfortunately, that was about the only victory of his championship career.

Dolph's first reign as World Heavyweight Champion actually came two years earlier, though. He lost a title match to Edge on Smackdown, but the following week, the result was changed to a disqualification; Edge had used the banned Spear to win. Edge was stripped of the belt and it was given to Dolph - but Edge won it back within minutes.

By the time Dolph recaptured the belt, from Alberto Del Rio, the brand split was over and the World Heavyweight Title was, at best, where the Intercontinental Title was 20 years earlier. Still, the win was memorable. Before he could even make a single televised defence, though, he suffered a concussion following a kick from Jack Swagger. He went on to miss several weeks of action.

When he came back, the company pulled off a well-executed double-turn with Dolph and Del Rio - but that involved Dolph losing the belt, never to regain it.
