10 Worst Wrestler Name Changes In WWE History

4. Less Than Perfect

Known as Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig had one of the absolute best gimmicks in WWE history. Born to be a heel, Hennig displayed trademark arrogance in the role, and fans wanted nothing more than to see this cocky son-of-a-gun taken down a peg or two by the heroes of the day. Hennig's son, Joe, has toiled for years in WWE. It's quite clear that he doesn't possess the same level of charisma as his father, but his ring names up to this point have been less-than-inspiring. Currently known as Curtis Axel, Hennig the younger is floundering, something he also experienced when playing the part of Michael McGillicutty. When it was announced that Joe Hennig would be a part of the first season of WWE's new NXT concept, fans were excited to see what the son of Mr. Perfect could do. Instead of running with his lineage, the creative team instead decided he should be called McGillicutty, for whatever reason was in vogue that day. Who was this character aimed at pleasing? Fans couldn't chant it, it was difficult to say quickly, and there was nothing marketable about. Fans bought 'Austin 3:16' shirts in their droves, but didn't quite rush out to buy any 'Evolution Of McGillicutty' items. Imagine that.
