Cagematch Rating: 2.81/10.

2023 ended in August for Sonya Deville, who suffered a torn ACL at the worst possible juncture. She and Chelsea Green had become WWE Women's Tag Team Champions three weeks prior. For the first time since taking a break from wrestling following her harrowing home invasion in 2020, Deville had found her in-ring footing, doubling up with Green to form an effective heel partnership primed to rejuvenate WWE's most neglected belts.

Deville's January clash with Bianca Belair came when she was in the midst of a SmackDown Women's Title feud with Charlotte Flair. Not that this stopped WWE booking 'The EST' to utterly flatten Sonya in a rough Raw bout gutted by the commercial break, which gobbled up half its runtime.

Does it really belong here, though? Probably not. It was ill-advised for the reasons described above, and mundane, too, dragging beyond the paltry 8:32 runtime. Deville shouldn't have been placed in a match like this at a time when she didn't need to lose, while Belair gained little in victory. It was a pointless affair the likes of which you used to see on WWE television weekly.

But one of the worst of the year?

Nah.
