10. WCW Bash At The Beach 1995

By 1995, it was becoming clear that simply having the likes of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage under contract wasn't instantly going to push WCW ahead of the WWF in the ratings war. There was still a big audience for these stars, sure, but it'd be inaccurate to say Hogan's arrival immediately turned things around for the company, that kind of thing would have to wait until the formation of the nWo. Taking the event's name literally, WCW decided that it'd be best to host their Bash At The Beach '95 Pay-Per-View at an honest-to-God actual seaside venue. Huntington Beach in California was chosen as the location, creating a unique atmosphere as the sun blazed down on the ring. Unfortunately, hosting the event in such a place also meant that the company didn't charge for tickets, and therefore made absolutely nothing at the gate. It could be viewed as a nice touch from WCW to give their fans the show for free, but it's decisions such as this which reflect why the company were in the red annually.
