Speaking of The Rock and WrestleMania, let's talk about a show where he himself is the reason it ended on such a damp note.

In the buildup to John Cena's match against WWE Champion The Miz, the esteemed Dr. of Thuganomics was far more concerned about The Rock, who that year was WrestleMania's host. The two exchanged heated words in the weeks before the show, while Miz was the odd man out.

In the match itself, Miz and Cena had a slow, sloppy encounter that initially went to a double countout. Yes, they seriously made you think for a second that the main event of WrestleMania would go to a double countout. However, Rock, using his magic "I'm The Rock" powers, restarted the match as a No DQ contest. Instead of this being the opportunity for Miz and Cena to step up their game and give the show a memorable ending, it was decided that this show was now going to be a commercial for next year's. The Rock delivered a Rock Bottom to Cena, and Miz was able to pick up the pieces to win the match and retain his title.

Not content to let Miz savor in his WrestleMania moment, The Rock laid out Miz and then did his grandstanding and hotdogging to finish the show. Yes, WrestleMania XXVIII ended with the host of the show pandering to the crowd after helping the heel retain his title. It doesn't get much lamer than that.
