6. WCW Starrcade 1998

We may never know just how big Goldberg would have gotten had WCW been more protective of his winning streak. It's probable that the company had way too many problems for him to save it, but perhaps the downfall in 1999 wouldn't have been as jarring and debilitating as it was. That said, those who have followed WCW's history usually agree that at Starrcade 1998, the company started to go downhill in a serious way. That was the night Kevin Nash booked himself to beat Goldberg, win the title, and end the streak.

And you know what? That's not necessarily the problem. The streak was going to end at some point, and there were plenty of worse options than the 7-foot Nash, who in 1998 was leader of the mega popular Wolfpac stable.

The problem, however, is that instead of ending Goldberg's streak with Nash triumphantly overcoming the odds and finally topping the champ, they decided to "protect" Goldberg by having Scott Hall run out, hit Goldberg with a taser, and Nash, unaware of what just happened, hit the powerbomb for the win.

Seriously, this was way lamer than a clean finish, and it likely played a huge part in people losing interest in WCW (well, that, and the Fingerpoke of Doom weeks later).
